Wooden Wick Candle Care Guide​

1. Master the First Burn

Wax has a "memory." Your candle will continue to burn exactly how it did on its first use. Always ensure the melted wax pool reaches the absolute edge of the glass on the first burn to prevent tunneling and wasted wax.

• Burn Time: Keep your candle lit for 3 to 4 hours on its very first burn.

• Edge-to-Edge Pool: Never extinguish the flame until the melted wax has fully blanketed the top of the vessel.

• Flame Fluctuations: Wooden wick flames may vary in height or look like they are going out—this is normal.

• Self-Correction: A low flame will continue to heat the wax and will naturally return to full height if left to burn.

 

2. Maintain Your Wooden Wick

Caring for your wooden crackle wick ensures a beautiful, steady burn every time you light it.

• Base Lighting: Always light your wooden wick from the base, closest to the wax, ensuring the full width is caught.

• Avoid Top-Lighting: Lighting the top of the wood can cause it to burn out before the flame ever reaches the wax.

• No Fancy Tools: Burnt wood easily snaps off with your fingertips before each burn, revealing fresh wood underneath.

• Regular Trimming: Always snap off the ash before relighting, especially if the top of the wick begins to curl.

 

3. Practice Uncompromising Safety

Always protect your space and keep your luxury candle within your line of sight.

• Stable Surface: Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts to ensure an even burn.

• Cool Down: Only move your candle once the flame is fully extinguished and the wax has completely cooled.

• Never Pour Wax: Avoid pouring out liquid wax from the vessel, as this can easily drown the wick and ruin future burns.

• The Low-Flame Fix: If the candle struggles, trim the ash, keep it on a flat surface, and let it burn until it clears itself.
